More than 610 Movement members threw their support behind the Family Urgent Response System, recognizing the great need for a hotline and mobile response units to help caregivers and youth in foster care experiencing difficulties get immediate, trauma-informed help.
While AB 2043 was unanimously passed by the California State Legislature, it was unfortunately vetoed by the Governor. But the fight is not over. The great level of support shown by Movement members and policymakers has helped to lay the groundwork for another push in 2019.
