Elizabeth Birmingham is the Senior Director of Finance where she oversees all aspects of the organization’s finances, including budget development, auditing, accounting, payroll, preparation of financial statements, and financial analysis. Elizabeth has a rich and diverse background in many aspects of organizational management, including operations, technology, development, and fiduciary and legal oversight.
Before her current position, Elizabeth worked as Director of Operations at Children Now, and before that, was an associate with Children Now’s Research team where she helped manage the organization’s research publications. Before her time at Children Now, Elizabeth was a Management Program Analyst at the U.S. Department of Education, in the office of Federal Student Aid (FSA). At FSA, she worked in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, supporting the executive management team with research and analysis related to building the department’s policy on Gainful Employment. While in Washington D.C., Ms. Birmingham also worked as a Finance and Operations Intern at the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society, and with local nonprofits helping support program evaluation efforts.
Mrs. Birmingham earned her MPA degree with an emphasis in non-profit finance from George Washington University. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She currently resides in the Bay Area.
